The Sparks Fly at the Museum of Science!!!
As a kid, one of the best memories I have is being in Boston with my parents and going to the Museum of Science. I remember staring up at the HUGE (as in “Largest in the world” huge!) Van de Graaff generator in the Theater of Electricity in amazement and expectation of the “Indoor Lightning Storm” that I heard people talking about. I saw a full size T-Rex and got to see myself through an infra-red camera that showed off my body heat. Recently I returned to the Museum of Science. Even though more than fifteen years had passed since trying it out as a kid, I walked around again in total amazement of the exhibits. There wasn’t a dull moment, everything was interactive. The Butterfly Garden was an amazing place. Once you walk in they surround you, sometimes even landing on you! There were so many different types and beautiful colors. Currently they have the “Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear” and the “Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids” exhibits. Both were very entertaining, one showing how our body reacts to fear in different ways and the other letting us see mythic creatures from many different cultures (including a full size replica of an Unicorn!). To top it all, the Theater of Electricity puts on an incredible show that teaches you about how electric and magnetic forces work together. After all these years, I looked at the “Indoor Lightning Storm” with the same amazement I did more than 15 years ago. All of this and more makes the Museum of Science a “Must See” when you visit Boston and Cambridge. Ask our Experience Specialists about purchasing tickets or booking a “Museum of Science Adventure” package too see for yourself how amazing science really is!!!
